U.S. Representatives, in 'the House', have email submission web pages at www.house.gov. Their email submission web pages can be accessed quickly by choosing a Representative from a list on the house.gov page and then clicking on the 'Contact' or 'Email' link on their home page --- thus making it easy for you to submit opinions to members of the House. If you want to submit to many Representatives, say members of a committee, it is best to prepare a document (preferably well-reasoned and well-substantiated) in a separate file on your computer and then paste the text into the email content boxes on the email pages of the several Representatives. Unfortunately, you typically get no more than an automated reply, and it is questionable whether they ever read a significant percentage of their emails. Hence ... Links to some Representatives' individual home pages are presented below, along with their phone numbers and snail-mail addresses. So if you can't seem to communicate with them via e-mail, try phone or snail-mail. (There are even some toll-free phone numbers below. Or use a phone card, to give your opinion for less than 3 cents per minute.)
Since Congress persons and party affiliations change in each state, yet the states should remain relatively constant (unless we have to sell some states as part of the bailout), I have ordered this list alphabetically by state (2-char abbreviation) --- after listing the Chairmen of some of the House Committees first. Party affiliation is also shown. D=Democrat, I=Independent, R=Republican. And some committee memberships may be shown. |

Since this list was prompted by my 'need' to protest the bailout of credit-card-debt and auto-loans, as well as mortgages, in September 2008, the list was started with Representatives who chair the 'Oversight and Government Reform' Committee and the 'Financial Services' Committee. As some of the House contact info changes (or if some info such as phone numbers or mailing addresses proves to be erroneous), you can use the house.gov site or links below this list to get the current contact information. Note that you can use the 'Find text' option of your web browser to find key phrases, such as 'toll free' or a committee name.
