Introduction : Links to some mtPaint mini-guides are below. These short 'how-to' guides were authored by Mark Tyler (the originator of the mtPaint program) in 2008. Since web sites frequently go dead and useful information disappears, and since 'mtPaint' how-to guides are mighty rare, this page is intended to preserve this mtPaint how-to info in case the mtPaint blogspot.com site goes dead. These mtPaint blog posts seem to be (almost) the only mtPaint 'how-to' information on the web, other than the rather sketchy mtPaint 'handbook' --- which is a set of HTML pages that come with the mtPaint program. It seems worth preserving (backing up) the few mtPaint 'how-to' guides that exist. At the very least, I want to keep these 'how-to' guides available for my own reference, since I find the mtPaint program quite useful on my Linux machines. If this site provides a source of mtPaint info for others, so much the better. 'blogspot.com' hosts blogs for free and blogspot.com is supported by Google, so one might expect the blogs there to essentially last forever. However, I am a strong believer in Murphy's law and the phrase "famous last words ...". Note: You can use a Find-text option of your browser to find keywords on this page, such as 'gradient' or 'brush' or 'palette'. In 2010, Mark Tyler was still doing some programming and making posts to his own blogspot site MarkTyler.blogspot.com. He seems to have changed his programming efforts to work on a spreadsheet program --- as well as some specialized projects involving graphics.
